This series emerged from trips into the Western Darling Downs in Queensland. Wide, flat, open, agricultural land, it was a creative 'problem' I pondered for years. How to express my experience of this country? I began with a series of works in pastel on paper, that became these final paintings - square and flat and soaked in colour.
